Student Behavior:
Students are fully accountable for their conduct and attendance. No food, drink (aside from water) or gum is allowed in the car. All electronic devices will be turned off and kept out of sight during classroom and Behind the Wheel instruction. Students may be dismissed from the course for misbehavior, excessive tardiness, excessive or unexcused absences, cheating, being under the influence of drugs, including alcohol, during any of the instructional phases, misuse or abuse of Traffic Safety Education equipment, vandalism of classroom furniture, or repeated and willful violation of traffic laws.
Parent Involvement:
Parent involvement is critical for the student’s success. Forty hours (40) of supervised driving are required by Massachusetts RMV prior to receiving a driver’s education certificate for anyone under 18. If parents refuse to practice with the student, purchasing additional drives should be considered or they are hindering their child’s improvement.
NOTE: “the parent/guardian must have completed the 2-hr parent class before the student is able to schedule drive times!”
Certificate:
Upon successful completion of all tests and scheduled BTW and OBS lessons required for our program and upon the payment of tuition and fees, a Driver’s Education Certificate needed for your license will be issued electronically by the Mass/DOT Registry of Motor Vehicles.
*PLEASE NOTE: Completion of Course and presentation of Certificate does not guarantee student will pass the Massachusetts RMV Road Test.
